Katy McNicholas, ATR, LPC
My Story
As a registered art therapist and licensed professional counselor, Katy blends her two passions – art and helping others. Katy has always felt called to find ways to bring joy to others and she is excited to incorporate art techniques when clients are interested, and creative interventions can assist in the healing process. Additionally, Katy utilizes traditional therapy models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to support many different challenges clients may be facing. She has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in both outpatient community settings and inpatient higher level of care treatment. Katy believes the client-therapist relationship serves as the foundation for growth and healing. She strives to meet clients where they are at in their healing journey. Katy helps clients to identify their own strengths, so they feel equipped to confront problems. If you or your child have experienced trauma or stress that has become overwhelming or interferes with day-to- day tasks, you are not alone. Katy will greet you with compassion and hope, as you have taken the first step towards healing and she looks forward to assisting you in feeling better!
